How to Be a Good Customer

 

A brief caveat: What follows is Riley's personal take on how to be a good customer of your local bootblack. Your bootblack's preferences may vary.

Dos:

*Do answer any reasonable questions posed by your bootblack related to your boot's usual care and your preferences to the best of your ability.

*Do let your bootblack know if you have any mobility or physical issues that might affect your boot shine. Most bootblacks are happy to accommodate in any way we can.

*Do ask your bootblack about the fee for service, and provide payment promptly upon services rendered.

Do Nots:

*Do not assume your bootblack is (or is not) a submissive, a boy, a Dominant, a Top or any such thing. We shine in many different ways and for many different reasons.

*Do not get handsy with your bootblack without permission. While we are performing a service to the community, this doesn't mean our bodies are the community's property. Please mind your manners and don't touch without asking first.

*Do not assume your bootblack will perform any additional "services" and don't try to coerce them into doing so. Many of us have to abide by rules or laws that govern such activities, and while trading sex for money can be a form of street economy, it is still illegal in most locations. Any negotiated sexual activities should be consensual and outside of any business transactions, as general rule.

*Do not fall asleep in your bootblack's chair. We know it feels good, but if you are intoxicated or tired, please head home in a cab instead.
